Pay Rate: $13.00/hour

Job Description: As a Lead Tour Guide at Leaman's Green Applebarn, you hold a crucial role in creating engaging and informative experiences for various groups of visitors. Your primary responsibility is to ensure each visit to Leaman’s Green Applebarn is memorable and our guests leave with new farm knowledge.

The timeline of the tour guide portion of this employment will cover April through October. Spring tours will start in May and run through the end of June. The months of July and August will include setting up and scheduling fall tours. September and October constitute the largest portion of our tours, which will run from mid-September to October. This position at Leaman's Green Applebarn offers flexibility to accommodate different employment preferences. If you are seeking a part-time seasonal job, you can focus solely on leading tours. For those interested in working 30+ hours per week, additional roles such as cashier, petting barnyard attendant, and farm laborer can be included to increase hours and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead daily guided tours of the apple orchard and barn

- Deliver engaging and educational commentary to visitors

- Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all tour participants

- Address inquiries and concerns from tour participants

- Collaborate with fellow staff members to manage tour schedules

- Schedule other tour guides based on tour requirements

- Communicate tour details with teachers and address inquiries

- Train staff to effectively lead tour groups

- Assist in preparing tour areas and ensuring supplies are ready for daily tours

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in public speaking

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

- Proficient in time management to handle multiple groups

- Strong multitasking skills for managing concurrent tours

- Organized approach to efficiently handle day-to-day duties and employee scheduling
